Committees
Fachhochschule Erfurt is both a public corporation and an institution of the state of Thuringia. It fulfils its responsibilities with regard to self-administration unless these are assigned as state responsibilities.
An important feature of self-administration is committee work. All members of Fachhochschule Erfurt are entitled to become involved in decision-making by serving on committees that represent the interests of the university. Each of the following groups is represented on the committees: professors, staff and students. The individual member groups elect their representatives for a term of three years with the exception of the students, who are elected for a term of one year. It is essential that all member groups are adequately represented in the various committees.
The most important central governing bodies of the university are the University Assembly, the University Council, the Senate and the central committees (Academic Affairs, Research and Transfer and Finance and Personnel Development).
