Ethics Committee
Pursuant to Section 2 of the Bylaws, the Senate appoints an Ethics Committee to oversee the University's contribution to a peaceful and sustainable society.
As part of this process, the Ethics Committee pays particular attention to appraising the possible use of research findings for non-peaceful purposes. After assessing each prospective research project, the committee reports its opinion to the Senate, which in turn decides whether the research may proceed. The committee's findings must be both substantiated and made publicly available. In addition, the Ethics Committee is responsible for investigating allegations of academic misconduct in accordance with the pertinent guidelines.
