University Assembly
The new Thuringian Higher Education Act, which came into force on 1 October 2019, established university assemblies as a new governing body.
The University Assembly is comprised of members of the Senate with voting rights (with a professorial majority) and the external members of the University Council.
The following also have the right to attend, express views and make proposals at the University Assembly
- the Chair of the Works Council
- the Representative for the Severely Disabled
- the Equal Opportunities Officer or their deputy
- the Diversity Officer or their deputy
In the above-mentioned form, the University Assembly decides on the election/dismissal of the President/Rector and the Executive Vice-President.
In addition, the University Assembly decides on the structural and development plans and their continuation. The internal members of the University Council then also have voting rights in this process.
Further details are regulated by §36 of the Thuringian Higher Education Act and § 17 of the Bylaws of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt.
