Preparatory courses in various departments

To help you brush up on your high school knowledge, the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt offers a range of preparatory courses (also known as bridge courses or prep courses). Depending on the degree program you intend to study, you can choose from a variety of courses to revise or advance your knowledge in these areas.

Prep courses for the engineering programs mainly focus on Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics. In preparation for business-oriented degree programs, you can already get an insight into the basics of Accounting and Bookkeeping.

STEM prep courses

Every year before lectures start in the winter semester, the STEM department offers newly enrolled students prep courses in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each courses lasts a week and consists of 90 minutes a day of lectures and 180 minutes of tutorials with practical exercises. The Chemistry prep course takes place online. English prep course

The Language Centre also offers an English prep course for newly enrolled students every year before the lectures start in the winter semester. The course focuses on revising important grammar and working on the students' individual issues with the English language.

The course lasts a week and consists of 2 double lessons (2 x 90 minutes) per day.
