Preparatory Courses

Every year, the STEM department offers preparatory courses in mathematics, physics and chemistry for newly enrolled students before their lectures begin in the winter semester. These courses each last one week and consist of approx. 90 minutes of lectures and 180 minutes of tutorials with practical exercises (mathematics and physics) every day. The chemistry course takes place as an online seminar.

  • The mathematics course is available to anyone who is interested, but is primarily aimed at students of Civil Engineering, Applied Computer Science, Sustainable Building and Energy Systems, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Forestry and Traffic and Transportation Engineering.  You can register for this course on the STEM (MINT) Moodle site from August onwards.   • The physics course is available to anyone who is interested, but is primarily aimed at students of Civil Engineering, Sustainable Building and Energy Systems, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Forestry and Traffic and Transportation Engineering. You can register for this course on the STEM (MINIT) Moodle site from August onwards.   • Students from all departments may take part in this course. It is particularly recommended for the degree programs Horticultural Plant Production, Civil Engineering, Sustainable Building and Energy Systems and Forestry and Ecosystems Management. All first semester students are welcome, as well as older students who would like to refresh their knowledge of chemistry. To take part in this course, you need to register on Moodle. You can register for this course on the STEM (MINT) Moodle site from August onwards.
