University Open Day (HIT)

Anyone who's thinking of going to university has lots of questions: What goes on at university? What's special about FH Erfurt? What can I study and what can I do in my free time? What's it like to live in Erfurt? You can find out the answers to these questions and everything else you need to know about studying at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt at our university open day.

The open day takes place on 10 May 2025 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at all three of our campuses.

When? 10 May 2025 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.
Where? At all three of our campuses(Altonaer Straße 25, Leipziger Straße 77 and Schlüterstraße 1)

Do I have to register in advance? No, only if you'd like to go on the city tour.
Will there be a campus tour? Yes, two! You don't need to register in advance.

And by the way, Student Services will be making sure there's enough food and refreshments!

General program on Open Day

Individual advice at our information stands, presentations on degree courses and applications, tips on everything related to studying, e.g. student grants, housing or leisure activities, guided tours of the campus and library, and a guided tour of Erfurt at 4 p.m.

The specific program for our departments is coming soon.

  • 10:00 - 10:10 a.m.: Building 8, ground floor, Audimax, Altonaer Straße 25
    Official welcome address by the President of the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt
    Prof. Dr. Frank Setzer

    10:10 - 10:45 a.m.: Building 8, EG, Audimax, Altonaer Straße 25
    Opening presentation: Introduction to the university, our degree courses and information on housing and financing your studies
    Jana Kummer and Katrin Fischer (FH) and representatives of Thuringian Student Services

    10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Building 8, foyer, ground floor, Altonaer Straße 25
    University-wide information:
    Centre for Student and Academic Affairs, Centre of Fundamental Studies, Equal Opportunities, Student Council, University Sports

    10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Building 8, foyer, 1st and 2nd floors, Altonaer Straße 25
    Information stands for the following departments:
    Applied Computer Science, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Forestry, Horticulture, Building Services Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Spatial Planning, Traffic and Transportation, Business Administration

    10 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Building 8, foyer, Altonaer Straße 25
    External exhibitors and information stands:
    ArbeiterKind e.V., Thuringian Student Services

  • 12 - 12:30 p.m. and 1 - 1:30 p.m.: meet in the foyer on the ground floor of building 8, Altonaer Straße 25
    Guided tour of the main campus, the academic departments, student spaces and the university library

  • 4 p.m.: Erfurt city centre
    Free guided tour: The tour starts in front of Erfurt Tourist Information (Benediktsplatz 1) at the heart of the old town.
