Your rights as a professor

"Arts and sciences, research and teaching shall be free. The freedom of teaching shall not release any person from allegiance to the constitution." (Section 5, paragraph 3, German Basic Law)

The legal foundations of your work are thus laid down in the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany. As a professor, you are free to teach and research as one finds appropriate. This entails autonomy, freedom of choice and the right to organize one's work as one sees fit.
