Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Lehmann studied traffic engineering at the Faculty of Transportation Sciences "Friedrich List" of the Dresden University of Technology with a focus on the planning and operation of electrical transportation systems. He conducted research on the topic of "Use of higher nominal voltages in railroad systems" there until 2009 and completed his doctorate in 2010. From 2009 to 2019 he was an employee of Siemens Mobility GmbH in the Technology and Innovation Department, where he coordinated the interdisciplinary research and development of electrification solutions for heavy road freight transport as Senior Engineer eHighway. Since 2019 he has been a professor in the field of "Railway Engineering in an International Context" at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt and devotes his teaching and research to the topics of system integration, subsystems engineering and decarbonization of rail transport, as well as intermodal transport chains. At IVR, he has been involved in the INTERREG project REIF since the end of 2019.
