Climate monitoring in the educational landscape park at FH Erfurt

Since 2003, we have been monitoring the following data at hourly intervals:

  • air temperature at 2 m and 5 cm
  • two ground temperatures (-10 cm, -20 cm)
  • air humidity
  • global radiation
  • wind vector
  • precipitation
  • leaf wetness

The last parameter is non-standard for climate measuring stations; it stems from the station's inclusion in the monitoring network of the Thuringian State Office for Agriculture and Rural Areas (TLLLR) to represent the southern periphery of the Thuringian Basin.

In this data network, it can be used as a basis for agricultural forecasting models.

The data collected by the monitoring station is statistically processed each month using a standardized procedure, and the results are publicly displayed in aggregated form for all faculty members to access.
