Teaching methods for higher education and evaluation
The Centre for Quality Assurace and Development (ZfQ) offers numerous services for students, teachers and employees with regard to quality management, (re)accreditation of courses, evaluation, advice on teaching methods in higher education, feedback, idea and process management. The team there is on hand to answer any questions you may have about courses, teaching methods, digital teaching, discussion formats and evaluations.
Evaluations
Evaluations are an important part of quality assurance and development at FHE. At least one third of the courses in a degree program is to be evaluated each semester, with each individual course being evaluated at least once every three years. Your role as a teacher also involves regularly evaluating the teaching and learning process. To conduct our evaluations, we use "evasys", a centralised evaluation system.
Teaching methodology for higher education
At our university, you can work towards the ‘Hochschuldidaktische Zertifikat@FHE’ certificate in higher education teaching methodology by actively developing and redesigning a course of yours that covers 20 teaching hours (each consisting of 45 minutes). Our consultants in higher education and media-based teaching are happy to provide support and encourage you to reflect on your teaching practice by taking an ‘outside look’ and offering suggestions on teaching methods and how to put them into practice. For several years, we have been compiling a collection of the most effective teaching and learning concepts on the "FHE teaching concepts" best practice platform. Teachers can use it to find inspiration for their teaching and also share their own ideas.
The Thuringian eTeach network is comprised of state institutions of higher education and universities in Thuringia that have joined forces to collaboratively develop digitally enhanced university teaching concepts. The Thuringian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society is using funds from the initiative ‘Zukunftsvertrag Studium und Lehre stärken’ (‘A pact to future-proof degree programs and teaching’) to expand the eTeach network and integrate the project into the state's digitalization strategy. This will provide tailored training opportunities, events related to (digital) innovations in teaching, as well as networking activities and advice.
